He initiated the ‘Voice Bank’ project a program which trains new talents to becoming a professional contemporary singer. Upon his arrival in Kuala Lumpur, Jay landed himself a job at Stigmax Sound Studio and became the first Indian to be working with them. Soon after, Jay moved to Kuala Lumpur to become a full time music director. This was his first recording studio, and Jay started working on his projects from here. His manager who saw his talent, decided to set up a recording studio at the office in order to help him pursue his passion. Jay, upon completing his high school, worked as an office boy at a lawyers firm at his hometown. Despite receiving strong opposition from his father, Jay kept on going. Growing up as a teenager, often times, he would spend the nights by playing music at the local pubs and clubs. He went on and created his own musical band at the age of 13 and named it ‘Minnal’. Jay started developing an interest in music at a very early age and started playing keyboard at the age of 9.
